"Ex parte matris mee". Propiedad, herencia y dotes en las comunidades locales gallegas (siglos XII-XIII)

This article deals with the documents issued from the cistercian monastery of Santa María of Oseira (Ourense, Galicia), aprox. 2000 from the middle of 12th century to the end of 13th century. The aim of this paper is the understanding of the reason of the relevance of women of very different social status from the beginning of the monastic life. The explanation is based on egalitarian inheritance systems in that area in the Middle Ages, and the transmision of property, mostly lands, by marriage. Finally, it concerns a specific way of circulation of lands in women hands.A partir de la documentación conservada en el monasterio cisterciense de Santa María de Oseira (Ourense), en torno a 2.000 diplomas desde mediados del siglo XII hasta finales del siglo XIII, se intentan desentrañar en este artículo las causas de la importante presencia de mujeres de diversa condición social desde la fundación del cenobio. Se aborda una explicación basada en los sistemas de herencia igualitaria que rige en la región en la Edad Media y la transmisión de los bienes, mayoritariamente tierras, a través de las dotaciones matrimoniales. Por último, se localiza un circuito específico de circulación de los que se han denominado "bienes de mujeres"
